Managing your wamo sub-accounts

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sub-accounts are individual accounts with their own unique IBANs that sit within your overall wamo business account. They are designed to help you organize your capital, manage team spending, and handle multiple currencies without extra paperwork or costs.

Why use sub-accounts?

  • Unique IBANs: Every sub-account has its own IBAN. You can choose which details to share with specific clients or vendors.

  • Better Budgeting: Dedicate accounts for specific needs like tax reserves, payroll, or rainy-day funds so you always have the capital ready when bills are due.

  • Multi-Currency Support: Create accounts in your choice of 5 available currencies to avoid unnecessary conversion fees.

  • Team Oversight: Link specific business cards to designated sub-accounts to allocate strict budgets for team members.

  • Detailed Reporting: Generate separate account statements for each sub-account for effortless bookkeeping.

How to Create a New Sub-Account

As long as your wamo business account is active, you can add a new sub-account in seconds:

  1. Navigate to your Home dashboard.

  2. Tap the bank icon next to your balance, or simply click on the balance itself to view your account list.

  3. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a new account.

  4. Select your desired currency and give the account a display name (this is an internal name to help you identify it).

Note on costs and limits: There is no additional cost or paperwork required to open a sub-account. The total number of sub-accounts you can create depends on your specific subscription plan.

Linking Cards to Sub-Accounts

You can connect a physical or virtual card to a specific sub-account to control exactly where the funds are drawn from.

How to link a card:

  1. Go to the Cards tab (left side on desktop, bottom right on mobile)

  2. Tap + Add card and follow the instructions to select the target sub-account

Important Security Note: For your protection, you cannot change the linked sub-account once a card has been ordered or created. Please ensure you select the correct account during the setup process.

Deleting a Sub-Account

If you no longer need a specific sub-account, our team can close it for you.

Requirement: Before reaching out, you must withdraw all funds from the sub-account. We can only finalize the deletion once the balance is exactly zero.
