You can receive international (SWIFT) payments into your account in EUR or GBP. Nevertheless, the sender can send the funds in EUR, GBP or USD. All USD payments will be converted to either EUR or GBP and credited to your account, as we don't currently offer local USD accounts.

GB IBAN: How to receive international payments

You can receive international (SWIFT) payments directly to any wamo account with a GB IBAN.

  • The sender must include your GB sub-account IBAN and BIC/SWIFT code (not just the account number)

  • Only same-currency transactions are accepted (Only GBP-GBP or EUR-EUR)

  • If your sender’s bank asks for an “Intermediary BIC/SWIFT code” they should use this code: BARCGB22 for GB IBANs

You will also be able to find the bank name, address and intermediate BIC in your account, by going to the relevant sub-account details and selecting the 'SWIFT' tab.

This refers to EUR and GBP accounts for businesses registered in the UK and GBP accounts for businesses registered in the EEA.

LT IBAN: How to receive international payments

  1. The sender will first need to send the payment in either EUR, GBP or USD to one of our pool accounts (you can find the details for all 3 options below)

  2. The sender must include your wamo account name in the payment reference field (the company name the account was opened for).

  3. If applicable, we will exchange the currency and then have the funds sent to your desired sub-account

If you have multiple sub-accounts, we will reach out to you to confirm which sub-account you would like the funds to be deposited into. If you prefer, you may also contact us at support@wamo.io beforehand to let us know which sub-account the funds should be deposited into.
