How can I add money my account?

From your Home dashboard, go to +Add money. You can choose from 4 different options to top up your account.

  1. Bank transfer: Receive money from another bank account with your wamo account details (you can do this in either EUR or GBP)

  2. Apple Pay: Add money instantly and securely with any card in your Apple Wallet

  3. Credit/Debit card: Add money by entering your card details

  4. *Payment request link: Request money via text message, WhatsApp, email or any other way by creating and sharing a payment link for a certain amount. The recipient can make the payment via credit/debit card or Apple Pay

*Your payment link may be disabled on your account by default for the security of your account and all other wamo customers, as the speed and ease of card payments means that they are more open to being misused. You can find more information on using them here.

How long will it take to add money to my account via bank transfer?

If the payment is made via a SEPA transfer, it typically takes 1-2 business days to arrive. For example, if the bank transfer is from an EU country to your Euro account (with either an LT or GB IBAN) the payment will be sent via a SEPA transfer.

Note that if the sender bank supports outgoing SEPA Instant transfers, the payment will arrive in your wamo account instantly.

If the payment is made locally to your GB account via Faster Payments then it can take up to 2 hours but is typically instant. For example, if the bank transfer is made from another UK account.

If you are receiving an international payment, from a country outside of the SEPA zone (includes the EU and UK), then the payment will take slightly longer. You can find more information on receiving international payments here.

How long will the payment take via credit/debit card?

Currently, we settle card payments on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is to avoid charging a fee for an instant card settlement.

If, for example, you top up using a debit or credit card on a Saturday, the money will arrive in your account 2 days later on the following Monday.
