Why was my business account application rejected?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

While we aim to support as many entrepreneurs as possible, applications are typically declined for one of the following primary reasons:

1. Ineligible Registration Country

To open an account, your business must be registered in one of the supported EEA countries or Switzerland. If your company is incorporated outside of these regions, we are currently unable to provide you with an account.

2. Ineligible Business Type or Industry

We support most standard commercial activities, but certain high-risk industries or specific corporate structures (such as charities or trusts) fall outside of our current risk appetite.

3. Nationality or Residency Restrictions

Even if your business is registered in a supported country, we cannot open accounts if a Director, Shareholder, or Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) is a national or resident of a prohibited jurisdiction.

In some cases, your application may have been rejected for compliance reasons that we legally cannot disclose. We sincerely apologise in advance for this and wish you all the best for your business.
