Although you'll find our account opening process straightforward, as a regulated financial institution, we have a strong responsibility to our customers' security and to preventing financial crime. As part of this commitment, we require certain personal and company information to ensure the integrity of your account. You'll likely have all this information at hand and we promise that it's a step worth taking!

Who can apply?
Before going ahead and applying for an account, we recommend that you first check your business' country eligibility and industry eligibility for a wamo business account.
Step 1: Create Your Profile (2 Minutes)
You can apply via our website, but we recommend the wamo business app for the best experience. We’ll start with the basics:
Your full name
Business email address
Phone number
Step 2: Identity Verification (2 Minutes)
To keep your account secure, we run a digital identity check on you and on every director and shareholder who holds 25% or more of the business.
Scan your ID: upload a clear image of your passport, ID card or driving licence.
Biometric video: you will be asked to record a short video to verify your identity.
For companies: you will list all directors and shareholders, with an ownership percentage for each shareholder. For anyone who holds 25% or more, the quickest way is to send them a verification link by e-mail - they complete their own check in minutes and you never need their ID. You can also enter their details and upload their ID yourself if you prefer.
Anyone who holds less than 25% does not need an individual identity check.
You do not need their ID documents to hand. If you are applying on behalf of the business and do not have a director's personal details, choose the e-mail link option and they will complete their own check directly.

Step 3: Business Details (5 Minutes)
We need to understand the nature of your work:
Business Name & Address: Where your business is officially registered.
Online Presence: Your website URL or social media pages (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.). If you don't have these, you can describe how you market your services.
Nature of Business: A brief description of the products or services you buy or sell.
Step 4: Required Documents
The documents we need depend on how your business is structured. Please ensure all documents are dated within the last 3 years unless specified otherwise.
