Sweden: your account number, clearing number and how payments work

Yes, you have a Swedish account number and clearing number. They are part of your Swedish IBAN, which is issued automatically with your SEK account. Swedish senders can pay you with just those two numbers — no IBAN needed.

Your clearing number and account number are simply another way of writing your IBAN. They all point at the same account, so nothing is missing whichever set the sender asks for.

Where to find them

  • Go to your Home dashboard.

  • Tap the account icon next to your balance.

  • Select your SEK account.

  • Tap Copy Details.

Getting paid inside Sweden

Give the sender your clearing number and account number. Payments arrive over Sweden's national rails:

  • Under SEK 1,000,000 — RIX Instant, arriving in seconds.

  • SEK 1,000,000 and above — RIX, arriving the same or next business day.

Bankgiro

wamo accounts do not have a Bankgiro number yet. If a supplier, customer or authority asks for one, give them your clearing number and account number instead — Swedish banks and businesses can pay you directly with those.

Getting paid from outside Sweden

Give the sender your IBAN and BIC BCIRSE22. Which rail the payment uses depends on the currency:

Payment

Rail

SEK from another country

SWIFT

EUR from a eurozone country

SEPA

EUR from outside the eurozone

SWIFT

Payments in a currency you do not hold are converted automatically into that account's currency.

Sending payments

Sending works the same way in reverse. In the app, tap New Transfer and enter either the recipient's clearing number and account number for a Swedish payment, or their IBAN and BIC for an international one.

Common questions

  • My supplier's form only has fields for clearing number and account number. That is fine — those are the details to give them.

  • Is my account number the whole IBAN? No. It is the last part of it, up to 10 digits. The app shows it separately.

  • Can I get a Bankgiro number? Not at the moment. Your clearing number and account number work for the same purpose.
