How to receive SWIFT money transfers from outside the SEPA zone to your wamo account

Important reminder for all wamo customers who wish to receive international (SWIFT) payments:
Please refrain from sharing your own IBAN account number as the procedure for the SWIFT payments does not allow to credit your accounts directly. Instead, you will need to ask your counterpart to input wamo pool account details as explained in the guideline below.

You can receive international (SWIFT) payments through wamo pool account, into your account in EUR or GBP.

The sender can send the funds in EUR, GBP or USD. All USD payments will be converted to either EUR or GBP and credited to your account, as we don't currently offer local USD accounts.

How to receive international payments

This applies to receiving international SWIFT payments into any of your EUR or GBP wamo accounts.

  1. The sender will first need to send the payment in either EUR, GBP or USD to one of our pool accounts (you can find the details for all 3 options below)

  2. The sender must include your wamo account name in the payment reference field (the company name the account was opened for).

  3. If applicable, we will exchange the currency and then have the funds sent to your desired sub-account

If you have multiple sub-accounts, we will reach out to you to confirm which sub-account you would like the funds to be deposited into. If you prefer, you may also contact us at support@wamo.io beforehand to let us know which sub-account the funds should be deposited into.

Important Notes

  • You will be charged a SWIFT fee depending on your account plan. Please refer to the pricing page for the most current rates: Swift Fees in Pricing

  • You will be required to send the SWIFT fee manually to our dedicated pool accounts. Please note that it will not be deducted automatically.

  • You will see the sender's name in the reference when the funds are credited to your account.
