Managing your notifications

Yes — by default, wamo tells you every time money moves on your account: payments you receive and payments you send. You get a push notification and an email, and the transaction appears in your in-app transaction history in real time, so you can confirm a customer has paid without keeping the app open.

What wamo notifies you about

Every transaction notification shows the amount, the currency and the account the money moved on. The categories mirror what you see in the app:

Category

What it covers

Channels and default

Transactions

Local transfers, SWIFT, top-ups and FX — money in and out of any of your accounts

Push and email — both on by default

Card payments

All card payments and ATM withdrawals

Push — on by default

Security

Alerts that ensure the safety of your account

Always on — cannot be turned off

Marketing

New features, personalised tips, exclusive rewards and campaigns

Push and email — your choice

How to change what you receive

In the wamo business app:

1. Tap your profile icon to open Account, then select Settings.

2. Tap Notifications settings — your push and email preferences.

3. Choose a category — Transactions, Card payments or Marketing — and use the toggles to switch push or email on or off.

The same preferences are available in the web app.

Security alerts stay on even if you switch everything else off. They ensure the safety of your account and cannot be disabled.

Will I know when the money arrives?

Yes. With notifications on (the default), wamo emails you and sends a push notification the moment a payment lands in your account — and the transaction appears in your app in real time.

How do I know when a client has paid my invoice?

wamo notifies you when the payment arrives. Open the Invoices tab, match the payment to the pending invoice, and the invoice status changes to Completed. See [Link: Invoicing and receivables] for the full flow.

Not receiving notifications?

  • In the app, check Account → Settings → Notifications settings: make sure push or email is switched on for the category you are missing.

  • Check your phone's system settings allow notifications from the wamo business app.

  • For emails, check your spam folder so wamo messages are not filtered out.

  • Still nothing? Message us via the in-app chat and we will take a look.
